Privacy Policy Statement

This is Geniem Oy’s register and data protection statement in accordance with the Personal Data Act (Sections 10 and 24) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The data protection declaration was drawn up on 30.9.2019

3. Name of the register

Customer, marketing and online service user register for Geniem Oy

The legal basis for processing personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation is the legitimate interest of the controller. 

The purpose of processing personal data is to contact customers, maintain customer relations and marketing. 

The data will not be used for automated decision-making or profiling.

5. Data content of the register

The information stored in the register includes: name of the data subject, the company/organisation, contact details (telephone number, e-mail address, address), website addresses, IP address of the network connection, information on ordered services and changes thereto, billing information, other information related to the customer relationship and ordered services.

We will process the data for as long as we need them for the purposes for which they were collected. All unnecessary personal data will be deleted from the register every two years.

6. Regular sources of information

The information stored in the register is obtained from the data subject through, for example, messages sent via web forms, e-mail, social media services, telephone calls, contracts, customer meetings and other situations where the customer provides their information.

7. Regular disclosures and transfers of data outside the EU or EEA

There is no regular disclosure of data to the other parties. Data may be published to the excent agreed with the data subject.

Data may also be transferred outside the EU or EEA by the controller. We regularly use the following service providers to process data:

  • Pipedrive 
  • Leadoo 
  • Google 

8. Principles of register protection

The register is processed with due care and the data processed by the information systems are appropriately protected. Where the data are stored on Internet servers, the physical and digital security of their hardware is appropriately ensured. Geniem Oy shall ensure that stored data, server access rights and other information critical to the security of personal data are handled confidentially and only by employees whose job description includes this.

9. Right of inspection and right to request correction of information

Data subjects are entitled to inspect the data concerning them and may request the correction of any inaccurate information.

Data subjects who wish to inspect or correct the data concerning them must submit such a request in writing to the controller. The controller may require the applicant to prove their identity if necessary. The controller will respond to the data subject within the time limits set by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (as a general rule, within one month).

The data subjects are entitled to request their data be erased (”right to be forgotten”). Under the General Data Protection Regulation, Data subjects also have other rights, such as restricting the processing of their personal data under certain circumstances. Any such requests should be sent in writing to the controller. The controller may require the applicant to prove their identity if necessary. The controller will respond to the data subject within the time limits set by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (as a general rule, within one month).
